Larry King interviews Red Barber on radio.

Recorded at the grand opening of Epcot, from the Contemporary Hotel. I had this interview on cassette for years and finally converted it to digital. Larry used to do a late night / early morning show on Mutual Broadcasting System. I don't know where I bought the cassette. Walter Lanier "Red" Barber (February 17, 1908 - October 22, 1992) Larry calls him "The best baseball announcer who ever live...
Part 2: Billy Smith and RD Neck on WNMB FM in North Myrtle Beach, SC

This is the second side of a cassette sold in Myrtle Beach in the 1980s. It is the late Billy Smith and "RD Neck" on WNMB FM in North Myrtle Beach, South Carolina in the 1980s. The catchy opening station ID was done by Dink Perry and The Breeze Band. RD Neck was a recurring character on Billy's show. Billy died too young. I think his days at WNMB were the best of his career in radio. The openin...

I uploaded this and the Will Rogers Follies clip from the 1991 Tony Awards because I coincidentally had seen both on Broadway shortly before this. Bought the tickets at TKTS at the World Trade Center location. We had no problem getting tickets because the shows had just opened. I recorded the Tonys on my VCR and found the tape over a decade later.

11/1 NC State vs.South Carolina (3-6-2)
Words can't describe what a tragedy it is that we don't have a professionally filmed version of this musical list we do with "Into the Woods" and "Hamilton." What a cast! It's very sad that the only preserved copy of their performances is some shaky bootlegs.
I regret missing this wonderful Broadway production.
I'm wiping tears from my eyes right now, it's so damned perfect!!
Mild assumption, but I imagine Mr. Carradine might've been Broadway's giddiest man that night for......reasons lol
Thanks for posting this classic
Harold green was totally awesome!!!
One of the best musicals of all time.
Fckn dope
Refs cost Carolina this game by not starting the clock on Raynard Brown's run. The crew was reprimanded by the ACC the following week.
I like when Mary wields Dickon’s stick like she’s freakin’ Gandalf!
They don’t make them like this anymore
So very fortunate to have seen this on Broadway twice with the original cast. So very special, so very beautiful! Loved all of it - music, lyrics, sets, costumes, cast - all excellent. If people spurned this musical thinking it was a children's show, it's their sad, great loss!

Perfect
Thank you so much. Have listened to the CD forever but never had the opportunity to see this spectacular show. Just typical genius across the boards. Keith Carradine was a perfect choice.
That hand jive stuff..blows me away every time I watch thus..makes me smile..
Ayds diet cubes ad at 9:33.
😳😩
Never get tired of this outstanding musical. Just brilliant.

Okay OMG, I did not know Agent Gideon was a classically trained vocalist?!?!?!?🤯😱🤯👏🏿🔥
Now, this is how you put together a musical number on the Tonys!
R.I.P. Lucy Simon (she passed away in October, a day before her sister)
“US Air” is, hands down, the best “Secret Garden” number. Tears. Every time.
I love you John Cameron Mitchell and give my regards to Francois Dillion
Rest well, Lucy Simon. Thank you for giving us the one of the best musical scores ever.
Thank you.
Classic. Thank you for posting and sharing this memory. Billy and R.D Neck were truly inspirational and mentors in my broadcasting career.
this would have been very useful when i built my truck
I don't think it will work as well as it shows per my 30 years experience purchasing in China. Moreover, ATV is not mature at this time, why would you believe a video? Think about the aftersales warranty and serivce for parts, you will end up with many warranty issues.
Where can I purchase that?
I had at one time an entire shoebox filled with cassettes showing air dates on each one …from his Saturday afternoon BSBPs …from around Fall 1977 until maybe 1982ish …when we moved to Conway many things were mistakenly sold at a flea market near our old Loris SC home …someone has a priceless library of all his special Saturday afternoon schtick!!! From RD Percy see more Hinny what was the clueles Secretary’s name …wow this video is Great !!! I miss that ole rascal a lot !!! 9/7 will be 13 years now he’s gone ….the beach station I love 94.9 Surf …keeps his memory alive
I too had some Saturday BSBPs but haven't located them yet, if I even still have them. Mine were from the mid 80s. 94.9 is great.
Memories !!!! Wow this is Great
Really glad to see this on You Tube...brings back good memories. I was R.D. Neck for 10 years on the BS show...hope all enjoy!!! RD
Well that is something. The RD Neck. I've got the second side of the cassette on digital but YT is not happy with the file format it is in, so I'm still working on uploading it. Stay tuned.
Finally got it to work, here is side 2 of the cassette. ruclips.net/video/tjxOl4Gdzrg/видео.html
What is the brand and make for the whole set????
Can you purchase it yet? Would be cool if and when it comes out. I like how it is remote. I am looking at a mobile service solution. If fake too bad great idea.
The Mobile Mechanic game has been changed
I was born in 1984. Went to my 1st Broadway show in New York, on Broadway, when I was 8 or almost 9 years old. It was Phantom. Then Secret Garden, then Les Mis, then Phantom again. Then South Pacific. I grew up listening in my big bird taped nighttime friend, from the 1980s, listening to Mozart’s magic flute, or Vivaldi’s Ring of Mystery. I love being exposed to musicals at an early age. I can’t carry a tune in a bucket, but I can appreciate them. And the Secret Garden original Broadway cast, is my absolute fing favorite original Broadway soundtrack. Ever. Mandy Patinkin, Daisy Eagan, etc. 100%. And I have a first edition book of the secret garden. And my favorite movie adaptation is a 1993 version.
I must say, Mandy Patinkin carried this show.
never not crying at this
Philip Quast and Peter Polycarpou! Not to Take anything away from this moving performance.
and Will Chase and Stephen Pasquale - and Ramin Karimloo and Cheyenne Jackson! Just a great song all around!
Oh Mandy!
does this kind of coreography has a name? it's fascinating!
A musical cannot be "proof of the power of dreams."" Nice try, honey.
I was at the game , I was a high school senior watching my cousin Todd Fisher play for the Wolfpack. I went out on the field like everyone else after the game….it was a surreal experience that I still think about often
Had the privilege of seeing this on Broadway.
The ritardando at 3:02… pure 🔥
I have just discovered this and can’t get enough!! ♥️♥️
Wow. They really went for it. Tommy Tune....!
I saw this in Los Angeles in 1991 with Mandy Patinkin. It was absolutely marvelous gave me chills!
